Mainly for Emily

So, Emily and I have been talking about reviving this as a way to at least be able to choose to read updates on everyone's lives, and we decided that the easiest way to inspire participation would be to just restart it. I know I'm writing as if there are more than a possible one other person reading this, because I am going to be optimistic, but realistically, hi Emily!

My quick/biggest life update would be about my job at the Fed here in Philly, which I start on the 13th. So, I've scarily only got a week and a half left of summer before I start off in the real world, or something like that. Not going to lie, it's pretty terrifying without having all of you guys here (although I know Mike and I will prove that Philly is the place to be soon enough, DC and NYC are so cliché). But hopefully things will get more interesting once I start working and meeting people; it's pretty quiet here especially since I have to live at home for the immediate future (hope to move out in 6 months...) and a larger-than-I'd-think contingent of my friends from home are either working in some other city or on an orch tour in Argentina.

Other than that...apparently most people are in DC or NYC for the 4th, but not me...my planned trip up to NYC got unceremoniously canceled by my parents in what I'm sure will not be their last act of semi-tyranny against my now-college-graduated self. Oh well. I'll move my reading at home all day to reading on the beach all day down the shore with the family, after another round of Bri's 8 athletic teams' games.

Even if I'm the only one, I appreciated that :)

Even though I already knew all this, I like the use of blog, and honestly the beach sounds pretty good for the 4th also. I know I'm bummed to be missing likely most of our family's beach week b/c I'll have started work by then :(

On another note, I am very curious about your gchat/fb status
